Carole Redlich I Karen Bjornenak I Sally Hare
February 21st - March 22nd 2026
Carole Redlich - Disorderly Textiles
I view each of my artisan garments as an individual work of art containing my energy and spirit.
Each tells a different (often complex) story, is individually constructed, is closely considered, and is formulated using slow hand-based processes.
The fibre for each garment is selected from my collection on the basis of colour, texture drape or fibre and may include luxury, vintage, hand spun or hand-dyed yarn.
My garments celebrate our freedom to step away from mainstream fashion and dress in an individual, joyful, expressive way.

Karen Bjornenak – BERSERK
Karen Bjornenak is a fashion designer and artist based in Geelong, Australia.
Her fashion career began in Melbourne’s iconic Flinders Lane in the late 1980s, where she fell in love not only with fits and fabrics, but with the vibrant creative community that shaped its own fashion culture in the heart of the city.
After studying pattern making and garment construction at night school, Karen launched her label Berserk in 1996 — named after the legendary Berserker Vikings from whom her Norwegian father descends.
Frustrated by poor fits and fleeting fads, Karen developed her own distinctive design language. Her signature style features vintage fabrics, natural fibres, strong colour palettes and quirky finishes.
She believes garments should not only look beautiful, but withstand life, love and laundering — designed to be altered, repaired, and ultimately recycled.
Works on display:
Fashion designer Karen Bjornenak transforms humble scraps of vintage fabric and carefully collected deadstock textiles into garments of character and quiet beauty.
Her work reflects a deep love of natural fibres, the upcycling of household textiles, and instinctive, confident colour palettes. Design lines remain deliberately uncomplicated, allowing the fabrics to take centre stage while maintaining a contemporary sensibility.
Each piece carries a sense of history, resourcefulness and thoughtful craftsmanship.

Sally Hare - Happy Hare
Sally draws inspiration for her creative work from her personal experiences and the
people who have played a role in her life. From a young age, she has had a passion
for craft activities, which became particularly significant during a challenging period
in her life. Through engaging in crafts, Sally was able to transform difficult and
painful moments into positive, vibrant, and colourful opportunities. This journey led
her to establish her clothing label, Happy Hare.
Specialising in wearable art, Sally uses natural fibres such as cotton, linen, silk, and
wool to create unique, one-off pieces for women. For many years, she maintained a
craft stall at the Victoria Arts Market in South Bank, where her distinctive creations
were showcased.
To continue nurturing her creativity, Sally enters her textile and wearable art pieces
into various competitions. She is especially passionate about upcycling—breathing
new life into garments and old fabrics, thus preventing them from being discarded
and contributing to waste.
Sally’s commitment to her craft led her to further her education. Between 2007 and
2009, she studied part-time to earn a Diploma in Textiles. She later returned to full-
time study between 2015 and 2017 to complete an Advanced Diploma in Fashion
Design. Sally remains dedicated to creating garments in a sustainable manner, with
the hope that her resources avoid ending up in landfill.
